The Story:
Under the guiding hand of Creative Director, Donald Oliver, this season sees the launch of cult denim brand, J Brand’s first ready-to-wear collection following their successful collaborations with Christopher Kane, Hussein Chalayan and Proenza Schouler. Only offered to 60 of their 2,500 retail stores this much anticipated new collection will soon be arriving at my-wardrobe. Drawing upon his experience at Calvin Klein and Vera Wang, Oliver has created a range of luxurious, pared back separates encompassing an understated, laid-back attitude radiating cool-girl style. The collection, primarily created from sumptuous fabrics such as silk chiffon and lambskin is interestingly absent of the material which made them so famous, yet this goes unnoticed thanks to the strength of the line as a whole, incorporating striking cuts and sleek tailoring.
