The Story:

Founded in 1984, chief designer Donna Karan and late husband Stephan Weiss began the international company that bears her name. After immediate success and an enterprise takeover by LVMH, DKNY was born in 1989. Fast fashion, with an urban mind-set, the brand has grown into the New York street-smart go-to label. The Council of Fashion Designers of America have saluted her an unprecedented six times and her fashion following include Cameron Diaz, Cate Blanchett and Sienna Miller.
