Born in Ohio, Nanette Lepore launched her design career in 1992 after humble beginnings of fashioning a floral dress from a bedspread. The now consistently elegant designer is based in New York's West Village and shows on-schedule at NY fashion week. She has watched her business go from strength to strength, by creating pretty dresses suitable for tea at the Ritz or a picnic in the park

For Autumn Winter 2008, Nanette Lepore perfectly captures two of the season's biggest trends – black lace and tailoring. Delicate web-like lace, perfect for Christmas soirées, appears on blouses and cocktail frocks while chic figure skimming dresses whisper of the 1950s.
