To help celebrate our 5th birthday, we asked 5 friends of my-wardrobe.com to name their 5 everyday essentials.
Here are the little luxuries they just cant get by without...
1. Kérastase shampoo and conditioner
Otherwise Id be leaving the house with a furball on my head. Ive tried every other shampoo in the land but nothing makes my hair shine and bounce like Kératase.
2. My early morning swim
I used to train at six in the morning when I was at
school and Ive recently kickstarted the habit again - it sets me up for the day and clears my head. If I dont go first thing, then I have 4 kids all on my case asking for tea, toast and Peppa Pig, and all hope of fitness flies
out of the window.
3. By Terry foundation and concealer
The combination of these two makes me presentable
and hides all traces of exhaustion/Jack Daniels the
night before.
4. My burgundy Converse All Stars
These go with all outfits from a T-shirt and shorts, to
an Isabel Marant floral skirt and denim jacket.
Indispensable
My iPhone (complete with neon pink bumper)
The bumper has changed my life - Id lose my phone a
zillion times a day but now theres no missing it. But
my Iphone is the ultimate essential - for listening to
music, twitter, work emails, keeping in touch with
friends by text. The days I leave it behind by mistake, I am truly bereft and cannot function...
1. Crème de la Mer
Ive had the same pot forever and whenever I use it Im weirdly convinced I look about 11.
2. Buckles
Basically, its all about buckles for me. I like them on coats, bags, shoes. If I could attach one to my head I would.
3. Oversized Chanel sunglasses
I have some from 2004 which actually cover my whole torso. Extremely useful.
4. Question Time
The best show on telly.
Clinique fake tan
You know what they say... the futures bright, the futures orange.
1. My Temperley jacket
This is a cropped fitted jacket that I wear more
than any other piece in my wardrobe as it is so
flattering and goes with everything. I love wearing it because it makes me think of Alice who is a total delight and a brilliant designer
2. Kai body lotion
This makes your body silky smooth and soft and
for some reason the scent reminds me of the
delicious night time smell of flowers in California.
3. Egyptian Magic
A total essential for looking after my hands, nails
and feet. Since having the baby I can get really
dehydrated and Egyptian Magic has really helped.
4. Morrocan Oil products
Another thing I didnt expect after pregnancy is that all the hair youve held onto whilst carrying the baby falls out and its really shocking! Using Morrocan Oil has helped keep my hair in good condition and feeling well-nourished and silky.
5. Chanels Universal Bronzer
Brilliant for the summer. No need for foundation -
a touch of this on the cheeks makes you look really healthy and sun kissed.
1. i-Pad
Life without the internet seems unimaginable. Life without my ipad: impossible. Each morning I will
flip through the news headlines, my emails, and
scroll through the my-wardrobe.com Daily Buzz
before I even dare start the day.
2. Wedges
Its all my fault I know - I wrote a book called How to Walk in High Heels. But some days you dont
have time to teeter on your finest spikes. Enter the
style saving wedge - it gives the wiggle and the lift of a heel yet you can run around for hours.
3. Mascara
A day doesnt work without lashings and lashings of mascara. Eyes are the windows to the soul, so you
might as well frame them with an array of designer layers.
4. DVF
If I am having a what to wear crisis, there is one
woman I can always turn to. From last-minute book meetings to interviewing a designer to a soiree or
occasion DVF is an ally I can always rely on.
5. A Year-round Knit
Cardigans are my guilty pleasure. Winter through to summer I have drawers dedicated to them. My By Malene Birger cardigan was my staple look last autumn
1. My Anya Hindmarch clutch
I adore my black and gold Anya Hindmarch patent clutch bag. Ive had it for nearly five years but even
so its one of those timeless accessories that
instantly makes a simple outfit feel dressed up.
2. Velvet de Luxe 66 tights by Wolford
These are incredible and are without doubt the best opaque tights I have ever worn.
3. Fragrance
Fragrance is my everyday essential and Im so
excited to be creating a new brand JO LOVES which will be launching later this year. Im currently
walking around wearing all of the notes that Im
working on and have named my favourite my best friend which I spritz on at least ten times a day!
4. A Cashmere Scarf
I love cashmere and dont go anywhere without my Love Molly pashmina. Its the most versatile
accessory in my wardrobe and doubles up as a
cardigan, a shrug, a poncho or a scarf.
5. Chanel Glossimer Lip Gloss
This is my handbag essential - Im never without
one! It has the most amazingly creamy texture and
just the right amount of sparkle.
